Time For a New McLaren!

So I was perusing the web this past week looking for some cool new cars coming out in 2017. And something kept coming up: the McLaren P14. After looking at the buzz and some insane spy shots, I thought that it was worth mentioning.
But first, let’s clear up something right off the bat: this is not the McLaren P1 replacement even though some people think that it will be even more menacing as the P1. Some people might get confused that this is the “Widowmaker 2.0” because of the same “P” which isn’t the case.
The P14 is replacing the agile 650S which has been around for two years. Keep in mind that the 650S is already faster than the brand spanking new Ferrari 488 GTB (0.1 seconds quicker in to 60). Rumors point to the same turbocharged 3.8 liter V8 except it will produce 660 horsepower.
Where my breath is taken away is the design. This car screams nimbleness and brutal accelerations. Just take a look at how low the P14 sits to the ground! It is practically sticking to the tarmac! And the muscular sloping roof line, taken from the legendary P1, means that this Ferrari-killer is open for business.
The P1 flares continue in the back. The slick sloping rear decklid is a masterpiece of McLaren’s great aerodynamics. There’s also a little 570S in the tail lights which makes me a little woozy. C’mon McLaren, you guys convinced me with the elegant, top of the line P1 styling but then kind of got me wondering when you threw in some 570S (the car that is at the bottom of the McLaren range).
Who am I to complain. This thing will be killing Ferraris left and right with the feather light carbon fiber tub and that symphony of a V8.
The P14 is really another example of McLaren chipping away at Ferrari. McLaren is proving to people around the world to doubt the most popular brands. Their cars have consistently beat the prancing horse and I expect the P14 to dominate!
As any other supercar that I report about, this is no different. Pricing is still crazy with the P14. Autocar said in their post that there is going to be a price hike from the already ridiculous $265,000 base price in the current 650S. Man, I gotta start saving for 2017...
