The British are Coming!

Yep, the British are coming alright. Aston Martin has been all the buzz these past months in the car world. They have just announced a hypercar of their own, the 1,000 HP Aston Martin Nebula.

In a collaboration with Red Bull Formula One and especially the CTO over there, Adrian Newey, Aston Martin are developing a hypercar to kill off the LaFerrari, P1, and 918 Spyder. Ambitious but remember that Adrian worked some great magic on the Red Bull car. So, a street legal F1 car!

What takes my breath away is that it looks so futuristic. From the rear 3/4 shot in the renderings, it looks like a light, cornering machine. Better yet is the cockpit that looks like it’s floating in midair and elegantly stretches all the way to the back of the car. Huge, extentuated and exaggerated haunches are holding up that floating glass masterpiece of a cockpit.

Aston isn’t messing around with their engines either. They are packing a 7 liter V12 that revs to 10,000! Regular economy cars barely make it up to 4,000-on a good day! The menacing track weapon boasts great aerodynamics and Aston said that it wouldn’t have a spoiler for added down force which is a big gamble. Every single hypercar has a spoiler and the new kid in town is doing things a little different.

The car will probably be made out of carbon fiber and aluminum-standard weight saving materials. Road and Track expects the car to weigh only 2,300 pounds while one of the kings right now, the LaFerrari, weighs 400 pounds more!

But guys, there is a catch. Start saving for this car since not only will it cost more than $3 million, this baby is coming to town anywhere from two to four years. Of course, there’s more. They are making 99 units and Aston Martin showed some very passionate (and rich) car collectors the car privately during this year’s Monaco Grand Prix. In order to get one of those slots, there are two options. One, you pay a 500,000 GBP deposit to automatically get a slot. Or you could do an application and a 250,000 GBP deposit but there is not a good chance you can get a car. Oh well, another car for the dreams!
