Renting Supercars!!!

I have had the tendency to only talk about supercars and how ludicrous they are. But, a lot of you guys reading are not billionaires or even in the market for a $4 million Zonda Cinque. I decided to write about one of the most practical ways to experience the thrill and rush of driving a supercar.
The answer-supercar rentals. It’s kind of like Hertz, except instead of renting the pragmatic Hyundai Sonata from the airport lot or even the standard Porsche 911 as some facilitates offer, enthusiasts can take the wheel of a Lamborghini Aventador. It’s a pretty big business that has made fortunes for entrepreneurs, take for example the Instagram rich boy Lord Aleem who just bought a $500,000 Lamborghini Aventador SV Roadster with his dad’s money from their PET supercar rental company.
Track events where you pay upwards of $200 to drive a Huracan for five laps are great and all, but we’re talking about having the car to live with for more than twenty minutes.
In the New Jersey area, the guys that have the Willy Wonka Chocolate Factory of cars is Gotham Dream Cars. They are based in New York and have every thing from a fully loaded Rolls Royce Phantom to a 458 Spyder. All of the greats under one roof.
They are the best of the best and have locations in New York, LA, Las Vegas, San Diego, San Francisco, Boston, and Philadelphia.
So, pricing you may ask. Well, living with a supercar does strain your wallet. Take for example the 458 Spyder which will require an initial $7,500 refundable deposit (so, you know, you don’t try to steal the $326,000 beast). Then, you are only allowed to drive it 100 miles a day and I am pretty sure that there are some more insurance charges that go along with the Italian steed.
For just one weekend, the rate is $4,500. Yeah, pretty expensive. But consider this, Gotham is like all of the other renters. Considering that many customers want the cars to embark on a once in a lifetime, ultimate road trip or because they want to immerse themselves with the alternate world of living with a supercar, this fee is considerable lower that going to a Ferrari dealer and asking to rent a car which could easily top $10,000.
This brings me to my next point, why can’t there be a lower cost solution, one that allows die hard fans to experience the cars for a weekend for a modest price? Is it because of the insurance troubles or the insane MSRPs on these cars? There has to be a way to cost cut.
As I keep brainstorming an alternate solution, I hope you guys liked this little blurb on supercar rentals. See you guys next week!
