The Dawn of a New Ferrari
Well, Ferrari has brought a new prancing horse into the world. Just this week, Ferrari revealed the GTC4 Lusso. This sassy four-seater Italian steed is the newest version of the Ferrari FF which was launched in 2011.
Now, the GTC4 Lusso isn’t your average bonkers Italian dream car. The crazy part of this car is that it is a four seater “family car”. Yep, you read right, a family car! It actually has four seats and people can actually sit in the back! Ferrari implanted a 6.3L V12 that gives the family car 680 HP and a top speed of 207 MPH. Insane! Better yet, Ferrari fine-tuned their all wheel steering (called 4RM-S) and their all wheel drive systems. This equates to a relatively low 0-60 time of 3.4 seconds. Keep in mind that this baby is heavy since it is primarily made out of aluminum.
It can’t be a Ferrari without an elegant, yet aggressive design. The GTC4 takes cues from the way older 330 GT and the 250 GT Berlinetta. Combined with some old timey flares and the iconic shooting brake lines of the FF, the GTC4 exudes luxury and the capability to thrash around the hairpins of the streets that overlook Monaco. Everything is done right and the GTC4 Lusso is clean and a great refresh of the FF. The muscular hood coupled with gaping air intakes below make the Lusso look like a cat ready to pounce on its German prey-beware Audi RS7!
Step inside and the greatness continues. Supple leather cushions your tushie as you effortlessly cruise in this well appointed grand tourer. The pictures of the cabin speak for themselves. Everything is basically the same as the old FF-chic, simple, and well put together. Hard core sport seats are optional and any part of the cabin can be in any color of the rainbow. New for 2016 is a 10.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system that includes Apple CarPlay.
Ferrari have worked wonders with this new continuation of the renowned FF. The GTC4 Lusso is really a cruiser that gets you from sunny Cannes to a brisk ski trip in the Swiss Alps without a hitch. Along the way, it provides ample comfort and understated power. Encounter some switchbacks in the hills of Switzerland and you’ll annihilate them!
Ferrari will bring the car to the Geneva Motor Show on March 3rd and more information will be released then. Expect a sticker price of around $300,000. That’s all I have for this week. Make sure to stay tuned!
