Faraday Future...
When I saw that Faraday Future released their FFZero1 Concept at CES this week, I felt like it was a gift from heaven. The rumored front for the Apple-car that I previously reported on finally released their highly anticipated “Tesla Model S killer”.
This baby sure kills the Model S. With its all electric drivetrain and 1,000 HP to its name, I have the odd suspicion it will beat the Model S in a drag race. I was really shocked when Faraday said that the concept car could do 0-60 in less than three seconds (I think this hypercar will do it in the low twos).
The FFZero1 Concept allows the world to see who Faraday future is and their pioneering technology which will trickle down to their future cars. For example, the four Quad Core motors that produce the 1,000 HP are arraigned into strings provide superior rigidity. They hinted to autonomous features saying that the car could act as a worthy competitor to a professional driver training on the track. (By the way, there were no words on range…isn’t that funky?)
The multitude of tech is seen in the interior too. There are zero-gravity NASA inspired seats that make the driver feel little to no fatigue. A mobile device can be placed into the steering wheel to allow drivers to easily configure all settings of their car and to interact with real time data (think power figures and battery management). The whole design was about making the driver the first priority and Faraday have done just that.
But the crowd pleaser was the design. They had legendary BMW designer Richard Kim work with other designers from Tesla to make a truly unique all carbon fiber body that has never been seen from a Silicon Valley startup. It looks as if the FFZero1 is an agile batmobile, eager to pounce on its prey. Better yet, the car looks like it’s a low profile streak of excellence even while its parked!
Expect the beast to hit the roads in two years…but I’m pretty sure that it will demand the premium of a hypercar. I can’t wait for the next cars to be released from Faraday Future. That’s all I have this week! Make sure to share and comment! I’ll see you guys next week!
