The McLaren 570s

McLaren has finally begun deliveries of their “Porsche 911 killer” the 570s. The famed creator of the P1 calls their new model, “the supercar that can be used everyday.” This car really caught my attention and now I’m here with my take on the McLaren 570s.

McLaren introduced the 570s as part of their Sports Series which is aimed at killing the 911 Turbo S and any 911 imitators. It goes for around $185,000. The 570s has a detuned engine from its big brother (the 650s) and makes 562 HP with its 3.8 liter turbocharged V8. It’s like a cheetah off the start line with 443 pound-feet of torque and a quick shifting 7-speed dual clutch gearbox that shares some characteristics with the technology McLaren uses in their F1 cars.

This translates into a top speed of 204 MPH and a 0-60 time of 3.1 seconds (just a tad bit slower than the 911 Turbo S). Also, the carbon-fiber tub and the extensive diet that McLaren engineers put the car on come together to form this magnificently handling sports car.

The 570s handles corners like a boss. When all of the automotive journalists published videos of them slinging the 570s around corners in Spain, I was shocked. There was no body roll and the 570s catapulted out of corners with no hesitation. In my opinion, it handled the hairpins better than a 911 Turbo S. But we’ll just have to wait for some drag race videos and Nurburgring times.

Styling-the best part of the 570s. Design makes the car so far ahead of the 911 Turbo S. Clean lines show traits from its papa bear-the P1. All of the proportions are just right, making the 570s look aggressive and sophisticated at the same time. McLaren has hit a home run yet again.

The interior is basically a more minimalistic version of the 650s. The steering wheel is extensively grippy and the cabin is loaded with alcantara. It’s clean, race-bread, and is unseen in any other supercar in its class.

McLaren has made a really good 911-fighter, but until some track times come out, all we have to do it wait. The 570s is a design disruptor in the segment. Everyone else is trying to look like a 911, but the 570s stands out (in a good way). Porsche, you better take some lessons from McLaren and make more uniquely bonkers sports car!

That’s all I got this week! Don’t forget to like and comment! I’ll see you guys soon!
