Faraday Future

So, there is this really interesting car manufacturer in Silicon Valley. They are called Faraday Future and everything from the what they do to who they employ is very mysterious.

Faraday Future was founded in 2009 and they are focused on creating a user-friendly car that will be beneficial to the environment. They feel that cars aren't using all of the technology that is out there. Faraday also says that they are going to create a car that is fully electric and allows people to be connected seamlessly to the outside world. Translation: they are making an electric autonomous car.

Faraday is also pushing for better in-car technology by making the car just like your smartphone (think Tesla on steroids). This is supposed to be the Tesla Model S killer and poses the biggest threat to the Model S. However, there is no information on what type or how many cars they are supposed to be introducing at their appearance at CES 2016.

Now, the mysterious part lies in the people that are working on the project. All of their employees (that are named) come from extensive backgrounds in the automotive industry, tech, or both. Better yet, most of their high ranking employees come from the team that worked on the development of the Tesla Model S.

For example, four out of their five leadership members spent at least two years at Tesla! It’s as if a whole team from Tesla is running the show! On top of that, these guys come from Lotus Engineering, Ford, or even Mazda. There are more than 300 people that are also working for Faraday that come from the big technology companies (Tesla, Google, Apple).

It gets better! Faraday is really quiet about their funding. They are rumored to have received a bulk of their cash from the Chinese billionaire Jia Yueting. Apple is rumored to be a leading contributor in their seed funding too.

Combined with the Apple derived staff, the seed investment, and the fact that there is no named CEO, Faraday Future is thought to be a front for the Apple Car. They wouldn't name a CEO because it would be a high ranking Apple official.
