Highlights from the 2015 LA Auto Show

It seems that the 2015 LA Auto Show is something for the record books. All of the top manufacturers brought their best to the show and a lot even released unexpected models. Here are some auto makers that brought cars to the show that I thought were worth mentioning.

Audi:

Audi brought the unexpected RS7 Performance Edition to the show. It has the same V8 but produces a staggering 605 HP and 553 pound-feet of torque when over boost is engaged. The top speed now sits at 190 MPH and the 0-60 time is 3.6 seconds. Aside from minor tweaks to the front grille and the rims, it is pretty much the same as a regular RS7. Expect the RS7 Performance Edition to go on sale in December for $129,000.

Porsche:

They released the 911 Targa 4 and 4s which is basically a Porsche that looks like it has no roof at all when the cloth roof is put down. The 911 Targa 4 and 4s bring the total Porsche 911 variant count to a mind boggling 21! Bravo Porsche, you surpassed McDonalds by having the most choices for a customer!

But wait, there's more! Porsche released the Cayman GT4 Clubsport or the "true Porsche" that the enthusiast have been begging for. It's a track-focused regular GT4 on steroids. The Clubsport has 385 HP that is sent to a PDK transmission, not the manual transmission in the regular GT4. This PDK will make die-hard Porsche fans unable to sleep at night just like when the new 911 GT3 came out. It was extremely hard to get a standard GT4, so if you could get your hands on one of the already sold out Club Sports for a measly $165,000, consider yourself “the chosen one”.

Mercedes:

Aside from changing the GL SUV to the GLS SUV and marking it as a 2017 model, Mercedes released the all new SL-class. The new 2017 SL can come with a 362 HP V6, a V8 that makes 449 HP, a souped up AMG V8 that makes 577 HP, or a cray-cray V12 that creates 621 HP of German fury. There is also Apple Car Play integration and exterior aesthetic changes like new LED headlight. The new SL is rumored to start at above $100,000 and go all the way up to the SL65 AMG's base price of around $220,000.

Well that's all that I have for this week. These cars had the biggest impact on the 2015 LA Auto Show in my opinion. See you guys later and make sure to comment and share!
