My Favorite Super SUV

In today’s world, it seems like every luxury car manufacturer is applying their performance knowledge on their SUV range. The result is that there is now a new segment in the industry, the Super SUV.
The Super SUV segment is comprised of crazy creations like the Porsche Cayenne Turbo S, the Range Rover Sport SVR, the BMW X5M, and even a handful of SUVs created by AMG.
After so many SUVs have been released and discontinued, I have figured out which Super SUV I like the most-the Range Rover Sport SVR.
What makes this SUV special is the psychotic supercharged V8 that Range Rover puts in it. This engine is used in a handful of other chaotic cars like the Jaguar F-Type R. The big difference between the Supercharged (the SUV that is one step down in the Range Rover lineup) and the SVR is that the same V8 found in the Supercharged now produces 550 HP and 502 pound-feet of torque. This is one grunting British bulldog!
Range Rover also likes to “emphasize” that this 5,000 behemoth can reach 60 MPH in just 4.5 seconds. They also stress that the SUV can lap the Nurburgring in just eight minutes and fourteen seconds, making it the fastest ever SUV (and the heaviest) to lap the legendary track. It is a performance machine and the first British SUV that beats the Germans!
It also creates a more harmonious sound track, too. You see, there is a big theme in the Jaguar-Range Rover family. Whenever they build a performance beast, they make sure that everyone around the world can hear it. Well, that theme has carried over to the SVR since it features their world-renowned Performance Exhaust System. This car is able to turn heads and blow people’s ears off. Plus, the exhaust screams, wails, and grunts when the SVR is pushed to its limits. The Range Rover SVR sounds as if it is replying back in assurance that it will rip the driver’s face off with brutal acceleration!
In relation, the looks just make this SUV legendary. British carmakers have had a tendency to grab an onlooker’s attention by making their cars look like masterpieces. They make beautiful cars that stand out to their conservative German counterparts. New for the SVR is more aggressive cladding on the lower portion of the front bumper. Along the mid portion of the door panels of the SVR are more muscular lines. The wheel arches look puffed up and the roof extends just a little bit longer than the base Range Rover Sport. The rims on this car give off this feeling of track readiness. Gloss Black and certain Carbon Fiber parts outline the bottom and the hood of the Range Rover SVR.
Range Rover has also been raved about for the quality of their interiors. The SVR is no different and they have implemented a brand new interior scheme. Now, there is more aluminum trim in the cabin. Range Rover adds a nice subtle touch by including all of their interior choices with a two-tone design that adds a nice refined piece of black leather down the seat. The superb quality of the leather is still the same. Also, the interior is a work of art. There are big swaths of leather that run from the steering column all the way to the front passenger’s air vent. Everything just looks and feels luxurious.
I mentioned earlier that Land Rover and even Range Rover SUVs were known for their off road capabilities. Well, the hard truth is that less than 40% of owners actually take their SUV off roading. That’s a shame since this SVR can wade in more than four feet of water and it has several off road settings! What is even more disappointing is the cabin technology-don’t even bother with the navigation system!
But honestly, the people that are buying the SVR don’t really care about the tech or the history of Range Rover and even Land Rover. They are just fascinated at the fact that this SUV is faster than most of its competition. Buyers love the looks and what the Range Rover Sport SVR has to stand for. And I am with them 100%!
