Breaking News-New Bentley
This just in, the Bentley Bentayga has just been introduced. It is the all-new Bentley SUV that everyone has been anticipating. Bentley released their elegant off-road vehicle on September 10th. The SUV was announced as a concept back in 2012.
Bentley claims that the Bentayga will sprint to 60 MPH in just 4.0 seconds and that it can go all the way up to 187 MPH. This is very surprising since the Bentayga weighs a tad over 7,000 pounds! Bentley put their W12 engine into the SUV so that it produces 608 HP and 663 pound feet of torque. Bentley has given birth to the fastest production SUV on the planet.
Inside, it is typical Bentley specifications. There are diamond quilted leather seats that come from hand-selected cows with just the right hides. Everything in the Bentayga is covered in either leather, wood, or any other hand crafted trim piece that Bentley has to offer. There are minute details like the concaving leather trim sections and the interesting touches continue on the exterior. Speaking of the exterior, it is molded from only one piece of aluminum to save weight. The headlights are engraved with the Bentley logo and are true LED lights. Since Bentley is owned by the VW Group, the Bentayga is based off the MLB platform that is used in the 2016 Audi Q7 and the future Porsche Cayenne. Basically, the MLB platform makes all VW Group SUVs lower to the ground and more aggressive.
Bentley hopes that several different types of wealthy clients can purchase this SUV. That's why they have four, five, or seven seat configurations. Over time, there will be more special editions like the current Continental GT3-R. Bentley hopes that there SUV will win over wealthy people that are looking at its competitors like the Maserati Levante, Jaguar F-Pace, the Rolls Royce SUV, and possibly an unannounced Lamborghini SUV. Those SUVs are all going to be released later this year or in 2016. Bentley is saying that their SUV will cost 160,000 GBP in the U.K and that is just the base model. There is no word yet on price or arrival for the American Market. Bentley will release more information on the Bentayga at the upcoming Frankfurt Auto Show.
